Im painting my living room a green, looking at warm shades or sage and my dining room a warm yellow or tan. Nothing too bright. I have been looking at paint swatches for over 2 months and I cant decide which ones go nice together because the rooms are basically touching. I want the green not too dark and the yellow not bright more neutral. I need help find 2 really nice colors. Please help!!!

  1. Why not stay with one color and alter it slightly for the dining room? For example if you are using a sage green for your living room, use the same sage but have the paint store add some yellow to the sage thereby warming it up. I would not use a lemon yellow, but a softer more buttery yellow. Don’t forget to paint your ceilings as well. They are, after all the “third wall”. They could be another version of sage only in a very, very pale shade. This will help to unify both rooms. You would be surprised how it really finishes a room. I have always painted the ceilings in my house and it is very subtle. Some people don’t notice, but many remark on how it truly enhances a room. It adds flow and makes all the rooms feel like they are “married” to each other.
    Have fun with your colors.
